AIM LeafGreens with Brocolli Sprouts!

  • AIM’s LeafGreens® is a combination of the powdered juice of young Barley, Faba Bean, Field Pea and Spinach Leaves with the addition of the scientifically proven anti-carcinogen – Broccoli Sprouts.
  • Broccoli is one of the most nutrient rich vegetables on the planet and most of us don’t eat as much as we should. The good news is that broccoli sprouts are far more nutritious than mature broccoli florets just as young barley grass has far more nutrition than mature barley grass. Our broccoli sprouts are harvested at the young age of just three days old, freeze dried and ground into a fine powder within minutes. As a result of our advanced processing methods, we ensure that only the most nutrient rich broccoli sprouts are used in the world’s greatest green product – AIM LeafGreens®.
  • Since the introduction of AIM’s LeafGreens®, the AIM Companies have received a stream of testimonies including:
  1. Increased iron blood levels
  2. Higher energy levels
  3. Improved eyesight
  4. Better kidney health
  5. Reductions in allergies
  6. Improved sleep
  7. Diminished depression
  • AIM LeafGreens® is so nutritionally dense that the serving size is just one teaspoon per day (½ teaspoon in the morning and ½ at night).
  • Although the AIM Companies identified a total of 21 vitamins and minerals in AIM LeafGreens® our Quality Assurance department only had room to squeeze 12 on the small packaging label.

Ultra Cold Filtration Process
AIM LeafGreens® is the only green powder in the world today to utilise Ultra Cold Filtration to concentrate 44 kg of leaves into 1 kg of AIM LeafGreens® powder. It would take approximately 45 bags of spinach to provide the equivalent of leaf weight that is used to produce a canister of AIM LeafGreens®. It would take a year of eating spinach salad five days a week to consume one container of AIM LeafGreens® and at today’s prices that would add $120 to your annual grocery bill.

Five kilograms of leaves makes 0.45 kg of AIM BarleyLife® powder (11:1). Therefore using 4 different young leaf juices; 20 kg of leaves makes 1.8 kg of AIM LeafGreens® - 44 times the nutrients. Wholefoods are far more bioavailable then foods fortified with synthetic vitamins and minerals, and this philosophy will continue to be AIM’s key advantage.

We start with all of the components of our AIM LeafGreens® juiced. Then pressure is added behind the juice. Here the smaller particles travel through a membrane with water. When this process is complete we are left with the “good stuff” or larger molecules like protein, chlorophyll, quercetin, kaempferol, lutein, Vitamin K and a little water.

Although pressure normally creates heat, AIM completes this entire process below at a chilly 6.7 degrees Celsius by surrounding the juice with iced water.

Sulforaphane
Sulforaphane is an organosulfur found in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli. The recommended intake of sulforaphane is 200 to 400 micrograms daily and each serving of AIM LeafGreens® contains a little less than 400 micrograms. This molecule is a powerful antioxidant that can stimulate our body’s natural liver enzyme detoxification system, prevent ulcers and fight the progression of many cancers.

Quercetin & Kaempferol
Flavonoids like quercetin and kaempferol are widely distributed in plants fulfilling many functions including the production of yellow, red and blue pigments to protecting plants from attacks by microbes, insects and even UV radiation. These protective functions can be transferred to our bodies when we consume plants that contain flavonoids like our AIM LeafGreens®.

These two flavonoids act synergistically in reducing cell proliferation of cancer cells, meaning that the combined treatments with quercetin and kaempferol (like in LeafGreens) are more effective than the additive effects of each flavonoid. This powerful combination is not found in barley grass, wheat grass or alfalfa. They are however found in the spinach leaves, faba bean leaves and field pea leaves in AIM LeafGreens®.

Quercetin
Quercetin is found to be the most active of the flavonoids in studies and many medicinal plants owe much of their activity to their high quercetin content. It is also a vasodilator (opens vessels and increases blood flow); is anti-inflammatory so can provide relief to individuals with arthritis and Fibromyalgia; protects our eye lens from opacification and oxidative damage from hydrogen peroxide. It may also ease allergies by inhibiting the production and release of histamines. Studies have suggested that quercetin improves symptoms in men with prostatitis. According to the Mayo Clinic it may also have the ability to reduce or prevent the growth of human prostate cancer cells. This is possibly due to quercetin’s ability to block the androgen activity.

Kaempferol
Kaempferol inhibits the oxidation of LDL (bad cholesterol) and the formation of platelet clusters in the blood which can benefit individuals with arteriosclerosis. Arteriosclerosis is the condition in which an artery wall thickens as the result of build-up of cholesterol. There’s a protein in our arterial walls called Nrf2 that is supposed to minimize our inflammatory response but this protein is often inactive. A recent study identified that sulforaphane has the ability to turn on the Nrf2 protein which reduces our inflammatory response.

So it’s interesting to note that kaempferol, quercetin and sulforaphane have the ability to lessen the effects of arteriosclerosis and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases in unique but synergistic ways.

Kaempferol also improves kidney function by moderating water retention and maintaining level blood glucose levels which are both secondary symptoms of diabetes. It has also been reported to influence osteoblastic differentiation and to prevent and treat bone loss. A 2003 study found that kaempferol had stimulatory effects on the mineralisation of pre-osteoblastic cells. This means that kaempferol may be a promising agent for the prevention of treatment of bone loss.

Questions and Answers
How does AIM BarleyLife® compare to AIM LeafGreens
® ?
The development of AIM LeafGreens® was not intended to compete with AIM BarleyLife®. AIM LeafGreens® is a blend of five different types of leaf juices that are concentrated using ultra cold filtration and is intended to be a superior plant based protein. Members continue to take AIM BarleyLife®. In fact, many Members mix a teaspoon of AIM LeafGreens® with a teaspoon of AIM BarleyLife® powder. Alternatively, Members can take one teaspoon of AIM LeafGreens® and two servings of AIM BarleyLife® at different times of the day.

How does AIM LeafGreens® compare to competitor products?
A comparison was made between AIM LeafGreens® and other green powder products available such as BarleyMax. AIM LeafGreens® was higher nutritionally for chlorophyll, Vitamin A, iron, Vitamin K, chromium and ORAC. AIM LeafGreens® has about twice the chlorophyll, 1.5 times the Vitamin A and 30% more ORAC than BarleyMax. It also has greater than 9.5 times the chromium and 13 times the iron! Using these quality markers AIM LeafGreens® has about five times the average nutrient content of BarleyMax.

Can a person with gout take AIM LeafGreens®?

Spinach, beans and peas have high purine content and should be avoided by gout sufferers.
Beans and peas contain moderate levels of purines, however a large majority are found in the bean seed and pea fruit of the plant. AIM LeafGreens® contains only leaves. The combination of spinach, faba bean and field pea leaves should not provide a high enough purine content to cause gout sufferers problems. However, start with ½ teaspoon of AIM LeafGreens® and over several weeks work up to one teaspoon daily to ensure there are no negative reactions. AIM LeafGreens® contains the flavonoid quercetin that reduces the production of uric acid. This occurs when the flavonoid inhibits the xanthine oxidase, which can ease gout symptoms.

What is the oxalic acid content of AIM LeafGreens® and should I be worried?
AIM LeafGreens® does contain oxalic acid that is contributed to the formula from spinach leaf. However the amount of oxalic acid found in AIM LeafGreens® is extremely low. During the ultra cold filtration process most of the oxalic acid from the spinach is removed along with salts and sugars. On a per day basis AIM LeafGreens® provides only 0.017% of the oxalic acid that is considered problematic. To give a comparison, one large corn on the cob provides 2.86% and a serving of raw spinach leaves provides 5.82%.

Are there people who should be concerned about the high levels of Vitamin K in AIM LeafGreens®?
There is no toxicity for natural vitamin K1, from plants. We suggest beginning with 1/2 teaspoon. Consult your physician before use if you are pregnant, nursing or taking blood thinning medications.

I started taking AIM LeafGreens® and I feel worse. Why?
Yes, it is likely that you may experience detoxification (fatigue, rashes and headaches) with the use of AIM LeafGreens®. Most AIM test users have reported this result so we may want to recommend a ½ serving (½ teaspoon, or 1.5 grams) initially or indefinitely.

Why is there no maltodextrin in AIM LeafGreens®?
AIM’s Ultra Cold Filtration process removes the natural juice sugars making them less sticky and easier to dry. Sugar is responsible for oxidation and clumping of juice powders so its removal extends shelf life and preserves enzymes thus the use of maltodextrin is not necessary. The absence of maltodextrin also drops the total carbohydrate content of AIM LeafGreens® to just two grams per serving.

Testimonies

Sleeping: In the past I was a restless sleeper and woke up several times throughout the night. I have noticed with the AIM LeafGreens® that I am sleeping better. In the past if I took AIM BarleyLife® late in the day, I could not sleep, so I had to take AIM BarleyLife® earlier in the day. Recently I missed taking AIM BarleyLife® for a couple of days, so one night I took two tablespoons of AIM LeafGreens® with some AIM BarleyLife® and AIM Just Carrots® just before bed time. Now I am taking the combo of AIM LeafGreens®, AIM BarleyLife® and AIM Just Carrots® and am sleeping right through the night. (Toni Lund – formulator of
AIM Herbal Fiberblend®)

Iron: I have a neat story to share about my iron levels increasing, and I’m sure it’s because of taking the LeafGreens. After giving birth to my fifth child, my iron levels dropped very low, all the way to nine (note: 11- 32 umol/L is normal). I started taking one teaspoon of AIM LeafGreens® per day. Over the next year, my body went through a lot of stress, including a miscarriage. However, I have not only maintained my iron but it improved to 19 in only four months of taking LeafGreens.

Testimonies should not be taken as typical for everyone. Results may vary from person to person.

We strongly recommend you download and read the AIM LeafGreens® datasheet above before using AIM LeafGreens®.
